About me
Runa King ’21 studied politics, geology, and dance at W&L. While still a student, Runa worked as an Arts Administration summer intern for two years for the Joffrey Ballet. Following graduation, Runa explored her passion for the wilderness and outdoor education by working as a backcountry guide in Alaska and Norway and completing the Camino de Santiago. Returning to her roots as a dancer, Runa went on to work as the Company Manager for ShaLeigh Dance Works in Durham, NC, and, later, as the Associate Operations Manager at the Joffrey Ballet School. She is currently pursuing an MA in Arts Administration at Teachers College, Columbia University. In support of that program she has interned with eco-arts company, Artichoke Dance and will soon begin an internship with the Development Office at American Ballet Theatre. Throughout her life, Runa has been interested in the intersection of art and nature and hopes to continue to explore the cross-sectional relationship of these fields throughout her career.
